ASTRO Gaming Join as Main Sponsor for DreamHack Open 2018
May 5, 2018
DreamHack and ASTRO Gaming joined forces in 2017 for DreamHack Open and the partnership has now been extended into 2018, set to bring DreamHack Open live from 8 live events in Europe and North America with $800,000 in prize money on the line.
DreamHack Open is returning for its seventh year running and will in 2018 once again feature the popular team-based FPS game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, each event featuring 8 teams competing live for a $100,000 prize pool. DreamHack Open will be featured at 8 of DreamHack’s gaming festival events across Europe and North America, with the first having taken place in Leipzig, Germany in January.
“It’s a great honor to have ASTRO extend their commitment to DreamHack’s longest running esports property. DreamHack Open is an important event for the ecosystem currently in CS:GO, where many events only cater to the top tier of teams. DreamHack Open is a perfect setting for aspiring teams looking to make an entry,” said Marc Winther, Project Manager at DreamHack AB, “Thanks to ASTRO’s support we’ll be able to continue to level up DreamHack Open as well as bring a great and important product to teams, viewers and event visitors. We are very excited about 2018 and our continued expansion made possible with great partners!”
DreamHack Open was launched in 2012, and as DreamHack’s premier esports circuit enters its seventh year, over $3.1 million in prize money has been awarded to gamers and is furthermore one of the longest running esports tournament circuits in the world.
“One of our primary goals at ASTRO Gaming is continuing to expand our support of global esports, and DreamHack’s efforts and vision for collaboration in this space continues to be a benchmark that we look for in partners. With an amazing first year as an official sponsor behind us, we are very proud to continue our support of both the CS:GO and Rocket League communities for the 2018 season of the DreamHack Open as their Official Headset Partner. “ said Walter Duccini, Head of ASTRO Brand – EMEA
ASTRO will be on site at selected events throughout the year and will assist DreamHack with the on stage audio and communications setup for teams and players at multiple events.
