January 8, 2018
DreamHack’s ultimate esports arena experience, CORSAIR DreamHack Masters, will be heading to the south coast of France and Marseille in April to host the first event in 2018.
Today DreamHack announces the first CORSAIR DreamHack Masters event in 2018, in a partnership with City of Marseille. The event will kick off with a group stage on April 18-20, leading into the main event and the playoffs, taking place at Le Dôme between April 21-22 in front of a live audience.
CORSAIR DreamHack Masters features the popular team-based Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as the main title, a prize pool of $250,000 and 16 teams competing live for the prize. To date the tournament series has continued to grow its attendance and viewership, continuing to be the most viewed independent tournament.
After three successful editions of the DreamHack festivals in Tours, it was logical to strengthen our presence in France and as the most recent edition of CORSAIR DreamHack Masters was won by a French team, as such we are looking forward to finally treat the French community and fans with an event of this size.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our presence in France with the addition Marseille in our 2018 event calendar,” said Marcus Lindmark, CEO & President of DreamHack AB, “We’ve received great interest for the CORSAIR DreamHack Masters product from a variety of partners and cities. Naturally we were excited to see the shared philosophy City of Marseille displayed and so we can’t wait to bring this event to France’s south coast in April.”
